The Passion of the Theatre

There is something really special about the theatre. It has been around for a long time in many variations, throughout virtually every nation on the entire planet. Many different people and cultures  have their own form of theatre and theatre costumes. All are very interesting and special in their own way. It does not matter whether the play is a comedy or drama, opera or musical, or some combination of all of the above; the magic of the theatre is always there.

Many people dream of making their lives on the stage. The lights, the curtains, the costumes, the audience, the scripts and the casts all come together to form an incredible experience that can be very rewarding, enriching and addictive – in a good way! It is the aspiration of many a young actor or actress to make their way to New York City on the East Coast of the United States in order to try to make it on Broadway. Starring in a Broadway Production is the biggest dream and goal of many people, and for good reason. It is one of the most popular venues with some of the very best caliber performances not only in the United States of America but of the entire world as a whole.

It is no wonder so many people flock to the streets and studios of New York, hoping to get their shot at having their own name in big lights on the grand marquees of Broadway. But even on a smaller scale and a more local level, the theatre is enjoyable as a player or member of the audience. You don’t have to drop a lot of money or run off to the big city with big hopes to enjoy the theatre. You can just go to a local high school’s performance and be very entertained and enchanted as well. That is the magic of the theatre.
